Application Procedure
A brief letter of inquiry is the best way to introduce your program to the Ethel & W. George Kennedy Family Foundation. If we think your inquiry fits our criteria we will send out formal application guidelines.
Please allow plenty of time to submit a letter of inquiry and the possibility of your needing to complete a full application. Any incomplete application received will not be considered and will result in an automatic denial.
In no more than two pages, please:
- Briefly outline your organization's history, structure and objectives; and,
- Provide a description of the program or project for which funding is being sought.
Please attach to your letter, the following:
- A Budget - You should include all sources of revenue and each category for expenses for the entire program, not just the portion for which you are seeking funding. The budget should include all expenditures for the program, including in-kind contributions; and,
- A copy of your Tax Exempt Status - an IRS tax exempt status letter, no more than 18 months old. If you need an updated status letter, call the IRS at 1-877-829-5500 and they will fax a copy to you.
Please be advised that priority will be given to those applicants not currently receiving Foundation support.
Generally, the period between successful grant applications for an organization is two years (3 grant periods).
Please do not construe any discussion or indication of interest prior to or after the submission of a written application or on-site evaluation as a commitment by the Foundation.
Applicants will be notified in writing only.
The letter of inquiry should be sent to:
